We ended up at The Hollow 2x in one day Once for dinner and back for drinks with friends. Our waiter Curtis was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was eclectic and all the staff were friendly. The Brisket sandwich was out of this world. If in the area again would definitely go back.

What a great find!!! Was in town for a work meeting and we had 17 people for dinner. We were sat in the back, almost a private dining room. They asked for our appetizer order before we arrived so when we sat all the apps came out while taking our drink order. On to the dinner. Beautiful dishes, incredible taste and our server Susan was the best server I have ever had. 5 stars!!!0

Awesome experience here! Attended a group party here with over 40 people! They were able to fit us all pretty cozily in the space! The food was delicious and the desserts were unique! The staff and the chef clearly cared about their work! And those bread rolls...... were delicious! Parking is a hassle as every downtown area but definitely a place to try !

Absolutely beautiful venue! The decor and overall ambiance was stunning and the food was to die for. Everything was absolutely delicious! Especially the steak tips and green beans! (Sorry, I didn't get many photos and the rest I have have my family in them that I do not want to post. But seriously, it's beautiful and the food was so good! Even my super picky kids loved everything! And their brownies are Devine for dessert )

Nestled in the heart of Albany, promises a magical dining experience. While the ambiance and service are undeniably enchanting, the food, unfortunately, is a bit of a mixed bag. The appetizers were a modest start. The pretzels, though a classic comfort food, were paired with a runny beer cheese that fell short of expectations. The chicken tenders, while predictable, were reliable, offering a safe and satisfying option. The main courses presented a stark contrast. The daily beef stew was a delightful surprise, brimming with flavor and warmth. However, the salmon and risotto was a letdown. The salmon itself was tasty, and the accompanying salsa added a nice touch, but the risotto was more reminiscent of a polenta, detracting from the overall dish. While the Hallow’s staff is attentive and the atmosphere is inviting, it's clear that the kitchen needs to conjure up more consistent magic in their dishes.

I had been here last almost 8 years ago (yes I’m old!) until last week. I don’t get to downtown Albany much anymore but I was in the area on a Saturday night. My husband and I got a seat at the bar right away. They had some really interesting cocktails! Our drinks were served quickly and were delicious. I will absolutely return to try their food and another bevy!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here before a show at the Palace. Both my husband's burger and my chicken sandwich were perfect! The truffle fries are a must try (you'll dream about them). The atmosphere and service were both excellent. We can't wait to return and try some other dishes.

Fantastic catering services! When the "other" place in town ghosted me, The Hollow came through in a pinch. I spoke to Dora on a Monday afternoon and had 50 very happy guests on the coming Saturday. The front bar and dining area provided the perfect amount of space for my guests to mingle during a buffet lunch. The glass corner storefront was bright and created a great feel within the city. The food was amazing (get the chili ginger brisket!). My guests repeatedly complimented me for putting on such a great event. I'm very happy my other venue didn't work out.

If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Albany, New York, make sure to carve out time for a visit to The Hollow Bar Kitchen. Located at 79 N Pearl St, this gem is a delightful blend of pub fare and eclectic ambiance. With a knack for marrying comfort with creativity, the culinary offerings here are sure to leave a lasting impression.

The menu reads like an ode to comfort food, inviting you to indulge in hearty selections that cater to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Start with the crowd-favorite 3Bean Lager Chili, simmered with their rotating house lager. For a twist, opt for the adding jack cheddar or vegan jack cheddar—both delicious for just $7.00. If wings are your calling, you’re in for a treat! Choose from a wide selection—mild, medium, hot, or adventurous flavors like soygochujang—paired perfectly with cool blue cheese or ranch, all for $15.50.

The side dishes are equally tempting. How about some Truffle Garlic Parmesan Fries to elevate your experience? At $10.50, they come drizzled with balsamic sweet onion aioli—comfort food meets gourmet flair. Or, for something lighter, opt for the Bok Joy Salad or a fresh Spring Greens Side Salad, both vibrant choices that reflect the restaurant's dedication to well-rounded dining.

Beyond the noteworthy menu, the atmosphere at The Hollow Bar Kitchen is vibrant and welcoming. Customers rave about the decor—an eclectic mix that mirrors the culinary creativity on their plates. For instance, Audra Towsley shares her memorable experience, noting how they returned twice in one day for both a dinner and drinks due to the fantastic service and delightful brisket sandwich.

Similarly, Nicky Prongay praises the establishment as a "great find," emphasizing the thoughtful service they received during a group dinner. The efficiency of the staff truly enhances the dining experience, making it a perfect spot for gatherings of any size, even accommodating large parties comfortably—something Milan J can attest to.

However, no experience is entirely flawless. While the ambiance and service are consistently rated highly, some dishes, like the pretzels and certain main courses, have drawn mixed reviews. Alexander Whipp mentions the daily beef stew as a delight but shares some reservations about other options, reminding us that each visit may yield different culinary experiences.

Ultimately, The Hollow Bar Kitchen stands as a testament to what a great local eatery should be—friendly service, comfortable surroundings, and, most importantly, a menu showcasing both creativity and hearty favorites. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner with friends, The Hollow Bar Kitchen is worth the visit.
